A Mayer Inspired Game
Hey Guys,
So I’ve come up with a little writing experiment inspired by Bernadette Mayer and I was hoping that you would all help.
Basically, this is a picture of me:
Okay, so that’s all simple and stuff, but what I would like you to do is to write pretending you are the person within this picture. It doesn’t matter whether you know me or not, and I am kind of hoping I get at least one of both just to compare.
It can be a piece of fiction, poetry anything.
Then I would like you to do the very same. Put a picture up of yourself and encourage people to write about you.
I will explain soon the purpose of this ‘game’. It isn’t just to satisfy my egomaniacal desires! Until then, have fun!

I can’t imagine being you without discarding the knowledge that I already have of you. Especially having just read your piece about the cat and the banana. Having said this, I’ll give it a shot:
The dog went to the pet shop and asked the shopkeeper for a can of food.
“Beg” said the shopkeeper. So the dog, not appreciating this patronising tone stormed out, the electric doors closing just behind his whispy tail.
“Why is it that I’m not respected as a human being just because I am a dog? I’m going to see my attorney!”
It was at this point the dog saw Rex.
“Hey dawg! Why are you talking to yourself man?”
“Shut up Rex, I’m going to see my attorney!”
“Whatever’s good for youse, dawg!”
So the dog entered his attorney’s office and told him he wanted to sue Rex for inhumane treatment.
“Please, I’m begging you!” pleaded the dog.
“Give the dog a bone and I’ll see what I can do.”
At this point the dog fouled in his office.
Next week, the dog was fined for fouling. So to make up the money, he became an astronaut and became the first dog in space.
MORAL: Judge by action and not by first appearances.

this is really hard..interesting, and something i’d like to try too but really difficult. i’m trying to think of a little story but i keep accidentally coming up with little tales about the person instead of written by the person (trying to forget it’s you or i’ll just get even more confused)
